Security Software NIS 09 issue

Hi.

I recently switched from avast pro to nis09. Things were working properly until y'day when I noticed the system tray icon had disappeared! I tried to run the program from the program files and it failed. However, I see the program running under the processes. What do I do?

Also, whats the difference between nis and nav? apart from the name? Is there a necessity to have the antivirus when I have nis or just one will do?

I think some component or any necsessary process is disabled. NIS 09 uses only one process to run.

However this can happen if ur system is infected by malware and u install NIS. this causes program to malfunction.

Use noton delete tool frm symantec site and reinstall........if nothing works.

NIS- has firewall, spam filter, phishing filters etc etc which is not there in nav 09
