Storage Solutions No Audio from DVD Writer

Hi Guys, i am Ritesh frm Thane, i installed a PC with a D945GCCR Board and a 3.0 CPU with a DVD Writer etc, now alls working fine its just that when i play a movie or a audio frm the DVD Drive there is no Sound, other sounds are perfect when played from the PC, its just that the there is no sound when a DVD or a CD is played in the drive, Also there is no slot for a Audio cable on the board and the Digital Sound option is enabled in the DVD Drive property.
Plz help me Guys.

First off, welcome to TE

Now, the media you are trying to play, are you trying to play Audio CD's/DVD's and Video DVD's? or Data DVD's like, avi's written off onto a DVD?

In anycase, download a codec pack say

Klite Codec Pack from : Free-Codecs.com : Download K-Lite Codec Pack 3.25 FULL, K-Lite Codec Pack 3.25 STANDARD, K-Lite Codec Pack 3.25 BASIC : K-Lite Codec Pack is a collection of codecs and related tools

Download the FULL version

and give it a try after you install it.

I am trying to play a Normal DVD that too an Orignal one, also a normal Audio CD dosent give any sound.

Have you connect your soundcard to the DVD drive ??

By soundcard, it could mean onboard sound or a separate sound card.

There has to be a port on the motherboard to which you can connect the Audio cable from the DVD writer.

if he has enabled digital playback, it should play without the audio cable

Try playing a data dvd, like mp3 or avi.

Dude, like I said install the Klite codec pack, that'll install the missing codecs, especially install AC3 filter from there.

Use latest version of Winamp for Audio CD's, I am pretty sure they have native support for Audio CD's now.

There is no Slot on the Motherboard for a Audio Cable, have tried all yet no sound, Plz advice guys.

Deepak, an audio cd should not need any codecs. Ritesh, did you try playing a mp3 cd?
