Audio no audio in windows 7

hey guys. i recently got a new comp and everything went perfect until i found that i get no audio at all! ive instatlled all the latest drivers but to no avail. . but wen i play a file it plays without a hitch and the equalizer too seems to be jumping up and down in the audio properties. so that means the files are playing rite? but i dont seem to be getting any audio. please help

Check for audio connector calibration in sound manager, be sure there is not mute lowered master/wave slider, check physical connection between sound card output (Line out ) and speakers input, check speakers on other audio source. If nothing work most probably sound chip is gone either by incorrect input /output connection with the speakers.
