I didn't want to put this on the forum but PMing it to most of the mods and safin pretty much ended up with no reply except from Bottle. I was planning with few manufacturers I know and then out of nowhere mods announced an overclocking contest without even letting me know. I came to know about this only when few PRs called me and asked why didn't I think their product was not suitable to have something as a giveaway for an overclocking contest.

I helped to get few company reps on the forums and some are more to follow. I nominated myself as a CR and people voted me with confidence. I have put a lot of effort on this forum but despite being nominated to be kept as someone to put up a contest, was not kept in a loop by any moderator. Safin doesn't reply back either. What's the point of being a rep and how can I do anything for the community if I am kept out of the loop by the same guys?

A company's head did come from Taiwan alongwith 3 engineers. He asked me about techenclave and ******. I said that as a CR that TE is THE BEST COMMUNITY you can find here and it should have been TE power users who should have been invited for the conference-period.

So what now Safin? Do I have to go through whatever redtape system you have or do I have to create public threads for all this to get any reply at all?

I think you should rather get this worked with the Mods and Admins rather posting it out here ...Manufacturers will always like the free mileage u know ...everyone of them can throw a product or two for this contests which is not bad for us in anyway !

Safin is usually quite busy to respond to PMs....may be u can mail him to his TE id....I usually got response from his quite quickly

Safin mentioned he would be busy till the end of this month with some personal issues. Not sure if Saiyan communicated this to you yet.

So I think you may have to wait till then for anything to happen.

Edit, like I mentioned the current OC contest was planned as a sort of initiative by us mods, independent of whatever duties you have to execute as a CR, probably similar contests, MOTM/ROTM candidacy etc. We were going to ask yours and Shripads and anyones help to get in touch with companies to get onboard at a later stage, this was still in discussion. You may want to let whichever reps who contacted you that.

Just to add:

1. bottle was PM'ing you on behalf of all mods. Everyone was in the CC loop and since he answered all your queries, we concurred with what he said.

2. The absence of a section was an oversight. You should've PM'ed the mods immediately with your request, we only put in a request to the Admins after you asked and like you we are waiting as well.

3. I'm not aware if there were terms that we would not organise contests ourselves too.

Renegade has asked a few times what the status was with your contest, but since you did not share any details we were equally in the dark, else this overlap could have been avoided.

In any case, the thread is not announcing the contest but its just a teaser thread while we work on the details.

Bottom line is Safin's red-tape is universal. If you're routing all your work through Safin expect a long delay.. if there is something that doesn't need Admin intervention, share it with the mods.

Basically the idea of the contest emerged from when i requested the Admin to have a separate section for all benchmark related threads. The general opinion was that there aint enough members who are interested to benchmarks like we used to have few years ago. After a great deal of thought we came to this decision together that why not have a competition just to test the waters and see how it pans out. We decided to make this as a plain Unofficial one and let Admins decide the prizes. We didn't want the contest be a manufacturer sponsored.

Bottle Sir assured me if we get enough participation, then we can have a section build up and develop the interest for a proper contests. This was it, i worked on the contest and with the help of few Mods we designed the format and prizes for the same.
