Nokia 101 - Help Transfer Contacts from NBF Backup

Hello,

A few days ago, I lost my Nokia 5130 XPressmusic in the train. It was stolen while I was asleep on the upper berth. I had recently backed up all my contacts, sms and other settings to my 16 GB card which was also in the phone, so that's lost too.

I have a backup of 22nd December of my contacts and SMS. But it's an NBF file which the backup utility in Nokia creates. I read that it's a normal zip file and just renaming the file to .zip will let us open it. I did that and even copied the contact folder (which has nothing but .vcf files for each single contact within it). Then, I opened each vcf file (which opens by default in Outlook) and saved each of the contacts. After this exercise, I exported all these outlook contacts into an Excel CSV file.

Everything looked normal but on looking deeply, I found that MANY contacts' phone numbers were replaced by 9600000000 - the same number for about 80 or so contacts. Very strange. This is no one's mobile number.

I have bought a Nokia 101 for now, knowing that it doesn't have USB or bluetooth. But I thought that I could restore the contacts (using my brother's 5130 XPressmusic) on to the SIM card (which I got from the Airtel gallery in place of the one I lost in the stolen mobile). And then, from that SIM card, I could copy/move the contacts to my Nokia 101. I even lessened the contacts from 280, to 250 so that they can be copied to the SIM card.

But now since more than 80 contact numbers changed to 9600000000, what should I do and can someone tell me any other easy procedure to restore these contacts from the NBF file?

Thanks and Regards,
casper

1) Backup brothers phone.
2) Format bro's phone.
3) Restore your backup to his phone (Just contacts, you can select it in the restore wizard).
4) Copy contacts from phone to sim.
5) Check if they work
6) Format bro's phone.
7) Restore his phone's original backup.

Thank you Party Monger, I was able to restore from the backup.
