Nokia 5230 and 5530xm launched

Nokia 5230 street price is expected to be @ arnd 8k after initial hype goes out. It competes directly with Samsung Star Touch (non Wifi & 3G)

Nokia is losing marketshare- because of it,s arrogance and stupid ppl running the company! take example of 5530-it,s specs are a downgrade from 5800- like lower battery life. The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, The S60 touch pioneer is equipped with a larger screen and built-in GPS, plus the 3G network data, which are all pretty major upgrades. To top it all Nokia has arrogance to price this 50% more than 5800. This phone will sink in market unless price comes down to 8-9k., when one can get Samsung Star for 7k, only fools will buy this for 16-17k

I don't see how 5530's will sell till 5800s are retailing for 12.5-13k. Maybe this is the reason why they're not giving kinetic scrolling to 5800.

kinetic scrolling for rs 2k more....!!! even 5230 has kinetic scrolling

With 2k more, you lose things like GPS as well :bleh:

and I do hope someone released modded firmware for 5800XM that includes kinetic scrolling

N97 got kinetic scrolling with a firmware update. 5800 didn't get it and I think Nokia didn't deliberately give it to 5800. Anyway, hope new firmware comes out with ks and new homescreen, as well as qt framework.

as you said earlier, a 5800XM with kinetic scrolling can be death sentence for 5530XM. who will buy 5530XM when they can get much better phone for same price :)

The upcoming Nokia X6 is going to be priced at over 30k in India.:crash:
It's double the price of 5800 inspite of minor differences like 5MP camera and capacitive touch-screen in X6 instead of 3.2MP camera and resistive touchscreen in 5800. The only major difference is that X6 has 32gb of internal memory whereas 5800 has 8gb, but still this alone is not enough to justify price difference of 15k.
