The Global CDMA market never had the luxury of having the latest and the greatest mobile phones. Forget having decent phones, CMDA network based service providers in India had even more pathetic cell phones. We had little options to select from, mostly the LGs and Samsungs with poor quality speakers, low battery life, few or none additional features, and heating issues. The only Nokia phone available in CDMA network was the 2112 that was nothing short of body building capabilities and a monochrome display.
Soon, Nokia released the 6235 for the CDMA network that is an exact replica of Nokia 6020 GSM phone with few minor changes though. This phone was announced around end of year 2004, but Indian market could see its release in October 2005 in Reliance CDMA network. The best part of Nokia 6235 is the absence of Reliance name or Logo on the phones making it look like a sleek GSM based one.
Let's face it, Reliance CDMA phones seem to lower one's status with the cheap looking phones and awkward tagline "Kar Lo Duniya Muthi me." But, they still have one of the best tariffs in India.

The package includes a cell phone, charger, hands-free, and a manual. As usual, the data cable is not bundled along. The phone is compatible with Nokia Connectivity Cable DKU2 that sells for quite some price. But you get duplicate ones for around Rs. 250, which seems to work as effective as the original ones.
The Nokia 6235 CDMA phone has the 3S feature, which stands for "Slim, Smart, and Sleek". With a color combination of black, light gray, and bluish gray with chrome dividers between the buttons, the phone looks stylish as well as up-to-date. It is comparatively light weight for a CDMA phone at around 98 grams. A 5 way joystick has been provided for navigation purpose, though the joystick lacks the soft feel of a Nokia 6600.
A volume button is situated on the left side of the phone whereas the right side can house a mini stereo plug-based handset. Data connectivity and charging point are placed at the bottom.
