Nokia 6300 firmware update query.

Hi. My Nokia 6300 cannot play videos above 176x144. So, want to update firmware. Don't know if firmware update provides support for that. Can I install firmware of other phones like 6303 or 6233?
 
You cannot update the firmware of your phone with the firmware of a different model.

S40 phones have very meagre hardware. If you try to play videos with larger resolution, the playback may be choppy. That may be why Nokia has deactivated the playback of higher resolution files.
By the way, what is the frame rate of the video that you are trying to play?
Try reducing the frame rate to 15fps.
 
Thanks. But S40 phones like 6233, 5130 xpress music play 320x240 videos. No matter what frame rate i use while encoding, phone doesn't play 320x240 videos. Does nokia automatically download firmware detecting the device without asking the user?
 
no they are not able to do so because for that they have to use gprs or edge and surtanly the user who is using that phone have to pay for it and as far as updating of firmware is cuncerned for that u have to download the nokia firmware updating toll it is a software that helps the user to update phones firmware to the latest one for your phone it is 57.21 u can download it form "www.nokia.co.in/get-support-and-software/download-software/phone-software-update" if u find it hard to update just pm me i will try my best to help you my friend
