I was removing one application , image editor to free some space from C: since i never used it. went to applications manager and chose to remove it. The progress bar was complete but the phone wasnt going back to normal state...It was stuck with progress bar done completely . Waited for a couple of mins.. didnt get back to normal so forcefully shut it down.

When switched on i could only see time and blank wall paper screen...nothing works...

I have the warranty option but thats going to take some time...got the phone from UAE , is there a way to foramt it ?

P.S. none of the buttons work

Update 1: Re-inserted battery .Can now see contacts and camera button

Update 2: Re-inserted battery. Can now see the interface completely. Phone responding but very very slow. I press menu button now...it opened after 80 secs

Update 3: Phone working alright now. Alhamdulillah. Working with normal pace

Phew...phew... never switch off the phone while an operation is going on...lesson of the story

I also removed my ol 3310 and started charging it to use ...lol

lolz... maybe u should change the title to.. Getting the phone out of death's mouth or Savin 6681 :P...

Any ways... if tht all hadn't had worked.. u could have gone for a soft format :)

I did try seraching for the procedure for soft format..could get it... could somebdoy direct me to that thread

Its taking a lot of time to close real player...almost 8secs .. more over i cant un-install norton av coz its running in the background . Cant even try to kill the process because there are so many files in the process menu and i dont know which is Norton av

So i guess soft format is going to be the best thing

^^ thts symbian :hap2: chksymbianx forums for the soft format code. btw use file explorer to clen all junkyards and yea take it to service cente if it is stil slow.

Arrey cheer up the situation is not bad enough to merit a RIP! :ohyeah: If you still have any problems, charge the battery to full. Remove the MMC. Try soft reset using *#7730#. Will restore the original Nokia settings. If at any time you are asked the security code, enter the default 12345. Let us know how it goes.

We accept no responsibility for use of this code. It is undocumented, not supported by Nokia or Symbian and should be used at your own risk.

The soft-format code for Series 60 phones is *#7370# . You enter this code as you would enter a phone number in the Phone application. It performs a format of the Internal drive - All data will be lost if you use this feature.

Series 60 reset

The method of performing a hard-format, i.e resetting it completely to factory defaults and removing all data, is as follows:

1. Switch off the phone.

2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (call answer) button, * button, and '3' button

3. While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone

4. When the message 'Formatting' appears on the screen, release all of the buttons

Note that you shouldn't switch the phone off or remove the battery when performing either of these operations, and it's advised that the handset has a reasonable amount of battery charge before performing a format/reset. As data will be lost, you are advised to perform a backup first

Well , the phone kept on hanging today.. so i removed the 1Gb MMC and then tried working with it.. The phone worked alright...was fast enough... so i guess the data in 1Gb is the culprit... now i am not saying that the phone cant handle 1Gb card in it.. It worked for 2 weeks since i got with 500MB on it. So i guess i would have to format the card ...

1)Can i go ahead with formatting the card or is a soft format needed?

2)I installed tomb raider on this phone yesterday (ngage game) using the .blz installer .. The game doesnt work . So wanted to remove it but the game is not listed the application manager coz its not installed through a .sis file. Now if i remove delete the game folder directly using Fexplorer there will there be still some files left in c:\. Like if i install an aplicaion on PC some files also go in the windows directory some in the registry etc. So does this happen while installing a game on mobile also ?

3) Is it OK if i run ngage game on my 6681 ?

1)you can format the card . No problem . But do it only by your phone and not by a card reader .
2)even if you install anything in your memory card. It will take up some space in your phone memory.Deleting those files may result in that particular program not working. For ex. profimail, java apps.
3)ngage games can be played on 6681 (i had around 9 on mine). But since ngage games modify your lib files. They are sure to give problem sooner or later. . Better stay clear of them . But if you still wanna play then you can use the "system2" trick .
Hope this helps .

Done that already using phone it self

>>2)even if you install anything in your memory card. It will take up some space in your phone memory.
Is there any way i can free that space from phone memory becuase uninstallation doesnt work all the time.. I have to manually delete some applications
