confused!!

Beginner
As I have very frequent office tours my primary Requirements are -
Very Good Camera with HD Recording
Decent App Support(Exhaustive not needed - Few necessary apps will do)
Very Good Web Browser

My budget is 17000 and both the phones are available below that at Infibeam.

Wave has got a bigger screen with a New OS and Nokia has Symbian but I am not sure till how much more they will be supporting Symbian. I am looking to use this phone for 2 more years.

C7 has got an excellent GPS navigation where as Wave has got a poor one from what I have heard.

Currently using Nokia 5800 XM and I have been a Symbian user for the last 5 years.

Which one should I go for??

2 more years... Then I Suggest the C7.....

Else wait till prices drop and grab a Desire HD/Z for 23K Later ...

Android phones have many custom ROms mate... So choice is yours :D

GO for the Nokia C7. Symbian^3 is much more reliable than bada IMHO.

Plus, Symbian has more apps available as of now.

@ Spacescreamer: WP7 is coming for the C7?? Are you sure?? I Don't think there'll be any official release of WP7 for the C7.

Just dont buy desire hd,(buy it only if you can buy an extended battery with it).Regarding reliability bada is absolutely reliable and stable.Only problem is lack of 3rd party apps.

The original desire was a great phone(except s.q),get it if you can.

If you're a syb user C7 wont disappoint you. Wave 2 has Bada, bada hasn;'t grown much(thnx to android) but the hardware is great(selling point)...

Regarding Camera -

Photos will be good, not great coz its a full (fixed) focus camera. You CAN NOT take macro shots..so if you expect to scan documents with it....DO NOT buy C7.

Video recording @720p is VERY good...one of the best in the category.

App Support - Agreed

Web Browser -

Current stock browser is NOT GOOD. Though it supports flash. But overall experience is NOT up to the ~17-18k standards

I have read on the net that PR2.0 which is due in about a month has updated browser which is as good as competition...but don't believe it until you see it.

GPS Navigation -

THE BEST in the business considering it has offline maps and is FREE (with turn by turn navigation). GPS locks in few secs (less than 10 sec) in my case

Sound Quality / Video Playback -

Awesome!

Hope this helps in your decision. These are personal opinions based on my own C7 - using as my primary device for last 2.5 months.

Note: Though I love S^3, I cannot give you false info....thats why clearly stating the cons. But sadly people don't clearly mention the shortcomings of the android handsets...so take every info with pinch of salt (including mine :P) and finally decide on your own

@Spacescreamer

Current S^3 devices wont be updated to WP7 AFAIK.

If you can wait a bit and extend your budget slightly, you can go for the i9003.

C7 it is then for me I guess. Tell me one thing, Is there any kind of freezing problem with the handset???Also I will be using it for casual Photography and Macro Mode will not be required.

I am actually overbudget by 2K to accommodate C7. Dont think I can go up to19-20 K mark

No freezing problem at all (at least in my case)

For casual photography its good enough. Non-macro type photos come out very good actually..and as I said video recording is one of the best in its class.

And forgot to mention about eBay deal...as pointed by sumatrix its available for 15.9k! thats just too good considering its features. I bought it for 18.4k.

Nope

If I tell you it's more stable than many other android phones with almost zero navigation lag and nil hang-ups........believe me
