Nokia has launched the latest addition to its E-series family of business devices, the Nokia E50, touted as the smallest phone of the E-series along with being a cheap, voice-centric device that comes with or without camera.
The E50 mobile phone is supported by Nokia's Visto Mobile push email solution. And with Nokia' mass-market business handset, Visto Mobile delivers on both, business productivity and personal utility, through device form factor and advanced application functionality.
Announcing the product, Dave Grannan, general manager - enterprise solutions, Nokia, said that as a part of the E-series business promise, the Nokia E50 has been equipped with a variety of email solutions in a small and stylized package.
With excellent voice, email, and data capabilities, the new phone offers enterprises a cost-efficient way to extend mobility to a broader range of employees, enabling them to access company telephony and business applications whenever required.
The new phone sports a classic Nokia design and will allow users to have two phone numbers in one phone. Other features include six-hour talktime, a built-in speakerphone, an MP3 player, and optional 1.3 mega pixel camera, all packaged in a discreet metallic case with a touch of color.
Built on S60 3rd edition smartphone platform and Symbian OS for enhanced security features and device control, the E50 supports popular corporate mobile email solutions, including Intellisync Wireless Email by Nokia, BlackBerry Connect, Visto Mobile, Altexia, and Microsoft ActiveSync. Besides, it also supports GSM networks worldwide, offering clear phone calls and rich voice and calling functionalities.
The Nokia E50 comes with a set of pre-installed business applications that help increase the productivity of mobile professionals. The phone also includes a search function enabling fast queries into critical data such as, contacts, emails, and messages. Important business attachments received via email, such as documents, presentations, and spread sheets, can be swiftly accessed via the Quickoffice viewer.
The E50, Nokia' 18th new phone model this year, is expected to begin hitting stores before the end of June, with volume sales starting in the third quarter priced at Euros 300 to 500 apiece.
