If you really want to try your hands on Windows phone, then I would advice you to buy Samsung Omnia. The phone is not only better than Lumia in terms of looks, but other specifications as well.. Omnia definitely is sleeker, has front camera, li-ion 1500 battery (lumia has 1300mah battery).. most of the apps & features are same since both are windows mango devices.

Price of Omnia is slightly higher than Lumia 710 but the phn is worth it. Sites like sulekha & adexmart are giving very high discounts on this phone bt I dnt find these sites reliable. In case you have some coupon, either go for saholic.com or letsbuy..

I too have decided for the Omnia W ( Sei Recommended it to me) , seems like the best bet for sub 17k budget.

The problem with both of these models is the lack of expandable memory. What with cameras shooting 720p, how can these manufactures design the phones with 8GB non-expandable memory.

As a multimedia device both of these are poor products. The real gem at these price point is the Samsung focus on sale on ebay.in for less than 13K, what with 4" AMOLED screen and expandable memory upto 40GB !

I disagree with you, yesterday my friend bought Nokia Lumia 710 and it looks great.

Even if you dont go on looks, build & sound quality is also great.

Its working flawlessly even in multiple apps opened.

Skydrive & nokia maps are good feature.

Surprisingly, it played 1080 videos smoothly, which most of single core droid gives force close error or play only video(no sound or out of order).

I m thinking to switch from Android

Can you elaborate what kind of Videos?, before jumping on the WP7 bandwagon, kindly have a look at DROID's that can handle 1080/720p's without any problem.
