Samsung, HTC and LG have already launched their flagships smarpthones, so all eyes are now focusing on Apple and Microsoft, as both companies have yet to reveal high-end devices this year.
While we already know Apple is going to launch the iPhone 6 soon, there are still not quite many details on Microsoft's next flagship smartphone.
Previously leaked under the Goldfinger nickname, it appears that the device is now know internally as Nokia McLaren. We don't know the reasons behind the name change, but it may have something to do with the fact that Nokia's mobile division has been absorbed by Microsoft.
Another reason could be the fact that Microsoft wants to start getting its own vision inside the next Windows Phone devices, hence the need for a new beginning on all projects.
So, Nokia McLaren is one of the smartphones mentioned in the Nokia roadmap 2014/2015 that leaked online a few days ago. According to @evleaks, the smartphone would be launched in fall, but he wasn't able to provide more details on McLaren's specs sheet.
However, WPCentral's Daniel Rubino claims Nokia McLaren will be released in November as Microsoft's new flagship smartphone and it will be picked up by at least three major carriers in the United States, namely AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless.
The McLaren is supposed to include some kind of 3D Touch technology based on gestures, which is the same as the one that's been said it will come with Nokia Goldfinger, which is why it's safe to assume they are the same device.
But now NokiaPowerUser adds some new details into the mix, which might or might not have been know by Windows Phone fanse.
It appears that Nokia McLaren will feature a similar design as the Lumia 1520, but it will come with a much smaller 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display. The good news is the McLaren's display is supposed to support quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) resolution.
Hardware-wise, the McLaren seems to be one of the first smartphones to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 processor and Adreno 420 graphics processing unit.
There are no details on the amount of memory inside, but it would be safe to assume that it will pack 3GB of RAM and at least 16GB of storage, with the option to further expand internal memory up to 128GB via microSD card slot.
The smartphone will come with Windows Phone 8.1 GDR2 operating system out of the box and it will be launched globally as Microsoft's Lumia flagship handset.
Given the fact that this info comes from various sources and details seem to be the same in each case, there's a high chance that the Nokia McLaren is real and will come with all the goodies suggested by these leaks.
