Nokia Warranty via Serial Number?

Hey guys, have any of u claimed nokia warranty with only the serial number and without the proof of purchase? On the site it shows that proof of purchase is necessary, but have any of u tried claiming warranty with the IMEI/Serial number which is there on the box?

i dont think so cos when u take it for warranty it feeds the warranty details....

they even make fuss if the bill is not a proper one that is not a vat paid etc...
 
Hey don't worry. Bill is not necessary.

I had got a 6280 repaired once without bill for the camera flash problem.

Later got a brand new piece since the problem recurred. :D

ive been to nokia service centre quite a few times. never been asked for a bill...
 
O.o 2 different answers, need conformation on this so I can decide whether to keep or sell the E71 my sis got at TED last month..
 
It's the same as many other OEMs'. They give you warranty based on date of manufacturing, & if that crosses warranty period then only they ask for proof of purchase.

But with some Nokia cares this might not be the case ( generally due to the person's ignorance at N.care ) , they'll ask for bill what-so-ever.

Hence u'll get mixed responses.....
 
hey .. same here .. they did not ask for the bill .. i went with my friend to a Nokia Care centre to get his 5800 checked .. they just asked us the problem and told us to wait till it gets fixed ..!!!!!
 
Just go to nokia service center and try it.. but first check the the manufacturing date on your phone. If they ask for the Bill then tell you have lost it. If they refuse then go to some other service center. What else you can do??

A new one comes for 14k something in Pune.
