Nokia's Stephen Elop suggests that the Windows Phone 8 will be released in October

A few days ago when Nokia announced its financial results from the second quarter of 2012, Stephen Elop (CEO of Nokia) revealed that the launch of Windows Phone 8 in the coming months would “be an important catalyst” for the company’s range of Lumia smartphones which run on the very same Windows Platform.

The New York Times also reported that Elops gave more specific details on Windows Phone 8. It is Reported that Nokia’s chief mentioned that Windows Phone 8 would be released in the October of this year. That statement makes more sense as as Windows 8 for Personal Computers and tablets is also going to be out that very month. Although Elop didn't say if the world’s first Windows Phone 8 devices would come from Nokia, but it most likely will as the partnership between Microsoft and Nokia is thriving.

In the second Quarter of 2012, Nokia had sold over 4 million Lumia phones which include the Lumia 900, Lumia 800, Lumia 710, and the Lumia 610 worldwide. But now Nokia must be hoping that Windows Phone 8 can boost the sales even more.
