I am not able to edit my posts in the forum...

The Posting rules that I found on the bottom of the page were:

You may post new threads

You may post replies

You may post attachments

You may not edit your posts
I wanted to know the reason of this? Is this Forum glitch or my fault (am I banned from editing my own posts? :huh: )
Also Mods, should I PM you guyz for things like this in future or start a new thread in this section?
 
Thanks to moderators bottle and XTerminator, I got to know that :
Only users who satisfy the below criteria will be able to edit their own posts.

Minimum 35 posts

Non-negative reputation points.(you start at neutral reputation)

You must be a member on TechEnclave for atleast 7 days.

Alright Mods and Admins,

I have satisfied the following criteria :

Minimum 35 posts : I have 38

Non-negative reputation points : I have 15 points

You must be a member on TechEnclave for atleast 7 days : Been here for a year now (Join Date: Jul 2006)
However, I am still unable to edit my own posts (even before the 1 hour limit)

Are there any other criteria to be satisfied? :huh:
 
OK. Now the option to edit posts is enabled.

i have the same problem dude ? what should i do ? Mods help me.. i have here for more than 7 days and i have 36 post here i suppose what else i require ?

Ps: i don't wanna start a thread for this
 
Okay thanks guys..i got edit option.But why there is restriction for editing my own post ? it weird i never seen it in other forums
 
ya gotta show a certain level of maturity as a newbie before you can be trusted to change your statements ;)

We weren't always allowed to edit our own posts. we got the power only recently :D .
 
This doesnt seem to be working now. I can't edit my older posts ( this had been working before). Could someone please check :ashamed:

I suppose there is a threshold period after which you cannot edit your own posts. Is it any thread that you yourself started and the first post in the thread you are trying to edit ?

Because in that case supposedly if there are anymore posts below your first post then you cannot edit your first post.

that's not been available from a long time.
like Bottle said, you cant edit a post after an hour or so.
