not getting download speed in bsnl broadband..

i have been using bsnl broadband from past 6 month . and my plan is 500 one

but i am not getting the download speed up to 256KBps which usually everyone get but what i get is surprisingly low and that up to 30KBps max....is their something wrong with my modem?????:huh::huh::huh:

Are you sure you are getting 30kbps and not 30 kBps speeds? 'Coz if you are getting 30 kBps download speeds (which I think you are) then there is no problem in your connection. 256 kbps = 32 kBps. So 32 kBps is the maxx you can expect out of your connection.

is it the 500rs night unlimited plan? you should be getting 220-230 KBps for that plan.

hello , sarthak lives near my place ,i checked it , he gets max download speed of 30KBps that too fluctuates from 15~30 .He has a 2 Mbps Night Unlimited plan so he shud get a max download speed of 256KBps like i get. I even installed my modem still the same prob, and there are 1 or 2 days in a month when his download speed goes upto 320KBps so that means there is no problem with the line , his link is also stable. Dont know where the problem is?.
