Not getting good speed and high ping

hello
i have 256kbps connection. the problem is that i ma not getting good speed (30kbps)
The singapor server ping rates are very high(300), before is used to get 45 to 50. I have a new connection in my shop where everything is fine which is connected to the same hub.The problem is only with my home connection.
Is there any problem with my lan cable.

First of all, u shouldn't be pinging from home!! u shud be studying for ur exams..

Secondly, there is no problem with ur LAN cable. If that were the case then u wudnt even get any connectivity.

And wht exactly do u mean by 'connected to the same hub' ? Its the way u r routed on to the AIrtel servers and there on thats causing the high pings for u.

i mean my shop connection and my home connection is from same hub. which is given by the local cable services. since my shop have new cable there is no problem with the download speed or the ping rates. but the cbles that they have given is very old and the rj45 pin is broken.
