NTSC X360 console & PAL titles issue

Hi,

I got a XBOX 360 S + Kinect from US along with few games (Skyrim et all).

Recently I bought a Assassins Creed II game from FlipKart. However the game doesn't work

, it keeps saying "Region Code Error". On the back of the game DVD, it says "PAL" version. However I was under the impression that since I am using HDMI PAL/NTSC shouldn't make any difference?

Anyways question is : Is there any way I can get this DVD working? Since I have few latest games from US which works fine, I would not want to do something that stops those games from working for this one game

Lastly, where do I buy the games from in India? And how can I ensure that the DVDs will work?
 
Please do not blame Flipkart,blame yourself for getting NTSC console from US. Apart from sourcing NTSC games there is nothing much you can do.

What you're attributing here is a signal source standard which was used for Television compatibility. It's different compared to region locking enforced by DVD media. For the Xbox 360, some of the games tend to be Region-Free, meaning, you can play a disc from any region on any console. While other games are region specific, so PAL games won't work in an NTSC console and vice versa.

No way to get the game working, unless you plan to hard mod it with the Reset Glitch hack, which would render it region-free. Since it's purchased from US, warranty is anyway nullified in India.

You can try www.play-asia.com. It has a host of titles catering to various regions. Else, Ebay would be an alternative. Most of the Indian sites would tend to have PAL versions only.
 
RGH FTW .Check your dashboard version first before moving ahead on modding it.

Buddy, thanks for your opinon, however it's needless and offtopic. One of the main reasons for getting XBOX over PS3 is online games. PS3 sucks at that last time I checked.

Before buying Flipkart customer support told me it works, and that's why I blame them! Anyways 1000+ bucks wasted is something I am willing to forget.

Guys anyone has buying experience with play-asia.com?
 
The delievery time is way too long instead try to find local game dealers or contact prashaant at te or ivg forums he can arrange NTSC games or better get the games from ivg trades there are many who sell NTSC titles there

BTW, someone on the top commented that Microsoft doesn't support US version in India. It's a all BS. I got FREE adapter replacement (for 220v) costing over Rs.3000 in local market from them and they also provide full support for the console. Most of the replacement during 1st year is FREE, provided I don't mod my console

I made that comment and I can testify that, since 2 of my friends who had NTSC (US) consoles were outrightly denied off it's warranty, as it was out of region. I'm not sure if they have changed their policy now, but you'll be very lucky if you get your entire console replaced.
 
Not dumb really. Their customer support is extremely effiicient. If you have the convincing power, then you can definitely earn your replacement. These are just rare exceptions for out of region replacements. If they keep doing this for every out of region console, then they would probably be out of stock in no time.

Yeh well, all I had to do is login to myservice.xbox.com using my LIVE ID, Register my serial numbers and order a replacement through their app, next day I got call for confirmation and they shipped replacement of Power Adapter of 220v. When I talked to person in XBOX Support (in Chennai), he said I am covered under same warranty, if I bought it from INDIA. So may be they changed now.

Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised

MS Customer support is most dumbass i have seen then giving replacement for consoles which has a replaced motherboard for a new console.
