Graphic Cards nVidia 7800 GS for you AGP fans

From Anandtech: With the Radeon X850 XTPE holding the top spot on AGP hardware up until now, NVIDIA hasn't had a solid high performance AGP showing since the power hungry 6800 Ultra. With prices on the aging, high-end 6 series parts absurdly high, it is quite nice to see an AGP 7 series part show up with good performance, lower power requirements, better features and a friendlier price tag, at about $300. Even though the X850 XTPE is generally faster than the new NVIDIA part, the price tag is a little steeper as well, at about $400. This leaves ATI holding onto a claim for the fastest AGP solution out there, but the feature set of the 7 series part is a bit more refined than that of the venerable X850.

Anyone buying AGP would be mad to pass the 270$ X800XT AIW and buy a 350$ 7800GS or a 400$ X850XT PE. You get top quality video options, equal performance to 7800GS and a cheaper price to boot. Only downer is lack of SM3

^^^ Well you yourself said it.. SM3. Other then that 7800 is a better tweaked GPU. See things are about moving forward and not staying PUT. So 7800GS is a good balanced buy in todays time with Good support of features and price-performance. ATI's AIW series is my favourite (tho I dont have single card) too but its not a Total Mega Gamers card but more on Video Capabilities.

You're better off staying with the 6800gt and upgrading directly to a 7900GTX or higher in a few months. The issue is getting a good price for your current card :)

Is it worth trading of my 6800GT which runs at 425/1140?
It dont worth it.
even upgrading to a 7800gtx dont worth it unless your getting fair price or stuffs.i think 6680gt is enuff for playing 1024*768 even more.and no use of x850xt pe cuz its sm2.0 and since sm4.0 on the horizon games will extensively use sm3.0 now a days.i;d say if ur getting poor performance overclock it to a ultra speed but keep it upgrade ti dx 10 after a year or 7/8 months.but again its all your money :bleh: as u wish :P
