Graphic Cards Nvidia GeForce 7100GS

Hello,

I have a computer with the following configurations

Intel processor 3Ghz
Intel mobo 915 GUX
1GB DDR Ram
160 gb hardrive

I want to know that if the Nvidia GeForce 7100GS card is good for the configurations. The motherboard has a express slot..

PS: I am getting it for 3500 rupees. Let me know if it is a fair price.
 
no i think 3500 is too much for a 7100GS u should get a 7300GT 512 MB for around 2850 bucks or max 3000...

The gfx's fine... Wat do u mean by whether its good??? :S
U mean bottleneckin or smthin???

The price's on the very high side... Beware..

the 7100GS 256 is priced @ 1750(Heh!! Exactly half the price!!! :P )
and the 512 MB version @ 1950...

okay.. Yes I saw Ebay it says 7100 is just 1800 bucks.. I hope the one you recommended will be compatible with my PC.. and if u can help me with another option.. My budget is around 2500 - 3000.. so if you know another card thats a lil cheaper please tell

thanks for the reply.. by GOOD i mean that will it play some moderate games like counter strike n nfs carbon.. If u can tell me another card a lil higher and around 2500 bucks that would be a great help.
 
@greenhorn: But fer <3k bucks, he has more or less the same options fer AGP as tat of PCI-E... :P
@sukhusukhu: 7300GS fer 2900 and 7300GT fer 3400... ( May vary...)
 
what about the 8400/8500 series ?

and PS : dont fall for the amount of memory on the cards. its the chipset which matters !
 
ok.. thank you..I have a graphic card currently which i was using a while back.. But it had some problem.. The card sometimes didnt work.. When i used to run the PC i had to change the graphic cable ( which comes from the monitor ) to mobo graphics ( even if the card was in the slot).. when running on mobo graphics ( with the card in the express slot) the card would heat up as if it was still working normally...If u think something can be done about it let me know or else il buy a new one..

The was nvidia 6200LE ...

I have understood something about cards since i have being reading the forums.. I think maybe it is not getting enough power.. ( the watt thing ) ..

I am really unknown to all this. so sorry if its a noobish question..

how do you know the card was heating up? did it feel hot to touch, or did some software temperature monitor show a high temp?

PS: saw the thread elsewhere for a new PC ... planning to replace this one ?
 
hey buddyy..if you want to play games like counter strike,nfs ug/carbon/mw and other 2006 games then buy a 7300gt 512mb at Rs.2850..this will be sufficient for your current requirement. and it will work on a moderate psu of 350watt.I have bought a 7300gt 512mb few days back//its works perfectly on my stock psu(techchom 350watt)///HAPPY GAMING

this will come at 4.5k//but hw can u expect to play DX10 based wid these card// i prefer save those 1k and invest in ur RAM or PSU
