Get gts250

GTS250 is rebranded 9800GTX+ which performs slightly more than 4850. actually there is hardly any difference between two..both cards beats by slight difference in different games. i would suggest u to get gts250 as it has physx also. get xfx or zotac brand, you'll get cod5 game with it. ;). XFX is a bit costly but has double warranty and zotac has 2 years warranty and also requires 2 6pin/1 8pin PCIE

XFX might have double warranty, but there are a lot of people having trouble getting Rashi to honour it. So, keep this in mind while going for XFX.

If you want ATI card only then take your pick between 5770, 4870 and 4890. GTS 250 cannot be compared with any of these.

btw, HD 4870 is way powerful than a GTS 250, and the 4870 512 is just around 7.5k though power consumption is bit on the higher side, and the idle power consumption too is on higher side, if u dun flash its bios to lower clocks and voltages while idling. 512 is enough, as 1G makes only 5~6% diff. Check guru3d comparion on 4870 512 vs 1G, and even at 1920*1200. diff is negligible.

Next is HD 5770. Its slightly slower than 4870, but is DX 11 and consumes much lower power, and greater room for OC, but on the downside, it costs more about 9.5k for the 1G version.

The best performing ATI sub 11k card is the HD 4890. It is almost 11k, but much powerful than all of these cards, but consumes power like hell compared to HD 5770/GTS 250.

4850<GTS 250<HD 5750<HD 5770< HD 4870< HD 4890< HD 5830< HD 5850.

AFAIK ZOTAC comes with 5 years warranty. you need to register at their site to get extra two years.

Grab any of these because:-

1. Non reference cooling (except the sapphire one)

2. 40nm ultra cool and power-efficient

3. BEASTLY OC(on HD5770)

4. Excellent performance(especially over a HD3850)

there are 2 versions of 4850 ddr3 and ddr5 ...will ddr5 version able to beat gts 250 ???

the DDR5 version was only available with palit and palit was discontinued as ATi partner for the same reason.

the new and official 4850 with ddr5 is known as 4860 with other partners.

the DDR5 version anyways would be as good as an HD4870 if slightly overclocked....last i bought 4850 DDR5 for a friend...it was for ~8.5k at lamington..impossible to get one at any market now.

Any ATI 4 series card above 4850 can beat it with ease, as simple as that.

by the way are you going to compete with some friend having gts 250 :hap2:.

good luck,
