Graphic Cards Nvidia Image Quality problem. Series 6 & 7.

Goldenfrag, READ, READ ! He mentioned he was using 78.03 Ok...

BTw, I've noticed this problem too, occurs mostly in Far Cry...

They did acknowledge the Shimmering issue which was supposed to be fixed along with 78.03.

They havent talked about the Shadow issue though.

Check out these images...

Look closely at the parts ive marked in a Red Circle. More Shadow Woes...

First one on a 7800 GTX and 2nd one on a x1800 xt.

These pics are @ 4x TransperencyAA @ Adaptive AA for nVidia and ATi respectively. nVidias TAA looks better to me.

Umm, Golden, you know what. I don't really see a difference in the two images...

@ Blade - Nah, I was just pointing out that the problem was fixed with 78.01 atleast thats what nVidia claims. Here are the entire release highlights for 78.01 WHQL.

# ForceWare 78.01 adds support for GeForce 6500 only. There are no additional driver updates in 78.01 since 77.77.

# SLI support for GeForce 6600 and GeForce 6600 LE

# New SLI rendering mode (SLI Antialiasing) for increased antialiasing performance

# Broader SLI optimizations and validation for the latest games

# Resolved SLI Antialiasing issues with some applications and generating screen shots. For a full list of other issues resolved, please view the driver release notes.

# Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0c and OpenGL® 2.0 support

err am i missing something or is there really no mention of the shimmering fix. Anyways ATI has implemented angle independent AF so nvidia has to follow suit sometime or the later. So that will eliminate all the AF optimisation "hacks".
