NVIDIA launches GeForce 6600 DDR2

It didn't take NVIDIA long to come up with a response to ATI's RADEON X1300 PRO, as today NVIDIA has quietly announced the GeForce 6600 DDR2.

The reference specifications for NVIDIA's GeForce 6600 DDR2 list a 350MHz graphics core and 400MHz memory. The GeForce 6600 DDR2 includes 8 pixel pipelines, 3 vertex shaders, and a 128-bit interface to its 256MB DDR2 frame buffer. According to NVIDIA, GeForce 6600 DDR2 boards are shipping now, with XFX among the first with products at retail.

Hmmm, i dunno how much of a performance difference this is gonna bring..

Also, already there is a 6600GT 4 which prices are decreasing.:P

So does this mean the 7600 is gonna come much later only??:bleh:

Yeah. I guess so. And ATI's launch has not been anything spectacular. I guess nvidia can afford to let the 6600 series continue ot run.

6600GT prices are NOT coming down. They simply don't have to, there is no card that can compete with them.

Also the DDR2 memory will make only 5-10% diffrence so its more of a marketing gimmick...
