NVIDIA has released new WHQL certified ForceWare 90 drivers. The new ForceWare 91.47 has been updated to integrate support for Quad SLI into the regular ForceWare 90 driver package. Support for NVIDIA’s GeForce 7600GS AGP and 7100GS are also included with this driver release. There’s no mention of support for NVIDIA’s upcoming GeForce 7900GS and 7950GT in the release notes or nv4_disp.inf file.

Aside from the updated hardware support this ForceWare 91.47 release doesn’t differ much from NVIDIA’s previously released ForceWare 91.31 or ForceWare 91.45 Quad SLI drivers. Nevertheless, the NVIDIA release highlights include:
  • Adds support for NVIDIA Quad SLI, GeForce 7600 GS AGP and GeForce 7100 GS.
  • Includes the new NVIDIA Control Panel. Please visit the NVIDIA Control Panel website for more information.
  • New NVIDIA PureVideo features and enhancements. Please visit the NVIDIA PureVideo website for more information on PureVideo technology and system requirements.
  • Adds noise reduction post processing
  • Adds image sharpening post processing
  • Improved Inverse telecine algorithm
  • Improved de-interlacing algorithm
  • Improved compatibility with third party MPEG-2 decoders
  • Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0c and OpenGL® 2.0 support
  • For a full list of fixes issues, please view the release notes.

The Tech Report - GeForce 6 cards inherit transparency antialiasing
... with the latest ForceWare 91.47 drivers, Nvidia has added transparency AA support to GeForce 6-series cards ... both a GeForce 6600 GT and a GeForce 6800 GS with the 91.47 ForceWare drivers, but not with the previous 91.31 version.

... transparency AA is indeed available in both supersampled and multisampled modes in the Nvidia control panel. Gamma-correct antialiasing isn't ...

anyone tried the control panel? i just tried installing it and the damn thing made the pc grind to a halt. Why would a UI take so much CPU?

and to make things worse, my video playback started showing small stripes. I think the Nvidia devs have forgotten about the poor ol' Ge4 MX (and to make things worse, mine's onboard  )

oh well,............ back to 56.72

seriously... a lot of games artefact a lot with driver versions above 56.72. another friend of mine with pretty much the same config of mine has the same prob. seems its limited to the nforce 2 IGP only, not to Ge4MX PCI versions

anyone else here running on their NForce 2 onboards?

91.31 was a crappy driver release.too many bugs..and this one is better i think. It is very slow for the control panel to initialise..i got fed up of waiting and now am using the classic control panel..no problem with that..i didnt like the new look anyway :P

The last few forceware revisions have been nothing but trouble... as always, I'll try the new drivers and if there are any issues, go back to 81.98, which has been very stable for my 6800GT.
