It is not the same. That was something that was on the horizon, also they did not have to invest that much into it - remember, they were using the same directx 9 api. Here, they might have to put in a lot more effort. The only thing is, I believe ATI is going to be using the Havok API right? Which has to be licensed. So for games which do not already use Havok, it will be an added expense.
