NXG is releasing a new product today, and it's their new budget 7 inch tablet dubbed the NXG Xtab A9 Plus. The Xtab A9 Plus is a tablet in the wrong generation. With all new budget tablets adopting dual core chipsets, the Xtab A9 Plus sticks to an old single core design coming with a 1.2 GHz single core ARM Cortex A9 CPU and ARM's Mali400 GPU. What makes this device interesting is it's good display as well as 1 GB of RAM and it's slim body, at just 8.5 mm thick with a 280 grams weight. Ooh o.O

The Xtab A9 Plus will take the title away from the single core Micromax Funbook tablets as the lightest and slimmest of them all. In addition, the tablet comes with a somewhat dated Android 4.0 ICS operating system. The high point of the tablet is really it's design, display and 1 GB of RAM.

The tablet is a pretty decent offering. But it's missing certain elements which would have made it a really good offering. What's lacking is a dual core chipset, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Fix these two and we would have a real good budget offering with nice aesthetics as well.
