Audio Objective 2; Open source headphone AMP claims to rival the most expensive AMP

Just have a look at NwAvGuy: O2 Headphone Amp. This guy claims to have designed a headphone amp that can give the $2000 ones a run for the money. It is filled with a lot of technical details which I do not quite understand, but if what he is saying is remotely true it would be awesome! As it is completely open source, we could mass manufacture it for RS.1000 (or maybe even lesser!), and we could all save heck of a lot of cash! All audio gurus on the forum, please look up the page and tell if there is some truth in the guy's claim.

I've been following his blog for sometime now. It's an interesting project, but it won't come under 1000. Please look at the BOM. With enclosure, battery, Adapter, it should cost at least $75 to DIY. Even with mass order, it would not be much below this cost. If this is as good as claimed, I'd expect some specialists on head-fi/elsewhere offering to build one at some cost ($100 and around + shipping == similar cost to Mini ^ 3). May be the Chinese will take it over and give as an O2 clone around $60 on eBay and another version with better enclosure and all internals blacked out to hide the fact that it is indeed O2 at $350+.
