I have been playing a lot of morrowind lately, might finish it in two weeks, prob is mys system is a waste right now will upgrade after either NV or ATI come with decent mid range cards from the trash thats there rt now..

Ok so will I be able to play oblivion on say 512 mb RAM, and say a gfx card like 6600 or something ?

^^ get the 7600gs AGP selling here for 3.5k better than the 6600gt and can hold a lil longer for u untill u buy the "better cards than the $hiT cards now".

I played Oblivion at 1680 X 1050 Resolution with 6x AA on a E6300 @ 2.2 GHz, 1 GB Transcend 667 MHz RAM and a a 1900XT 512MB and got an average FPS of 55~60. With E6600 @ 2.7 GHz and 2GB Cellshock 1000MHz RAM, and the same 1900XT, the frame rates increased to 75~80 FPS.

The game is very demanding but still not badly written like some games that it will not scale to lower system specs.

With 512MB RAM and a GeForce 6600GT, it should be playable at 800 x 600 and medium~low settings. 1024 x 768 may be a bit too much to handle with 512 MB RAM and a 6600GT. At this resolution the game is not that enjoyable but still playable if you have no other option.

For better game play try 1 GB RAM and a better GPU than the 6600GT.
