Hello Guys,

My Ep45-Ud3p has gone for Rma so im using g31 as my backup mobo. Everything runs nice on stock but i got a niche to overclock the proccy now
<
(i have a small fan over the nb of mobo)

The mobo i have is Gigabyte G31m Es2l no introductions needed for this high quality product. SO i pushed my quad to 3.2ghz(1600fsb) on 1.26v and dram at 1:2 ratio(800mhz ram) the comp is rock stabel but only concern i have is will the vrm's on the mobo hold this much power ? and secondly when i stress test it there is a squeaking noise(i think the cap's are squeaking) so im a bit concerned if the caps will give in and blow up ?

Anyone know anything about this ? and suggestions welcome as well

just 3.2GHz? pretty sure you can achieve that at much lower voltage...

Not sure about the noise, never had it on mine.. (same board as u)

My northbridge was really really hot though, so just check yours... but then you are running it at pretty low speeds, so no issues I guess...

Raja u sure you were using g31 ? this is an entry level 775 chip i wonder if it can handle anything above 1600fsb...and yeah my proccy can do 3.8 at 1.28v easily....im just worried about those normal cap's and vrm's on the g31 board....

G31s arent designed for overclocking, And if you can hear a squeaking sound, you should back down your Oc a bit. Or your motherboard will be short lived.
