ocing not going good

my q6600 on a gigabyte EP31-DS3L went easilt to 3.2 GHZ without touching the vcore... now ive got a sun BEAM CCF as u guys recommended.. i raise the fsb by 1 and increase the vcore by 1 notch but in everest stability terst it keeps failing???? and wen i tried setting the pci frequency from auto to 100 its restarts and everything goes back to default speeds ....... i am totally confused

U dont have golden chip, doing 3.2 on stock is good enough, now time to raise voltage, w/ SCCF, set 1.45v in BIOS, then keep raising FSB (extrenal clock) in 5MHz increment, check stability w/ OCCT. Lock PCIe clock @ 100, raise FSB voltage +.01, n set RAM:FSB ratio 2.00

ok wen i normally lock pci to 100 without increasing any vcore it gets resent will try now what u said

and one more thing like i reached 356 X9 i keep increasging by 1 right

I am a total noob in this, so i dont know much about these things.

Isn't the clock of PCIe very high in terms of terahertz or sumthing? and when u say lock the clock at 100, is it 100 times the fsb?

before you try overclocking ,I suggest you to go through a few guides and try to understand what you are actually doing (just the simple basics)..

once youve read it ..you will be good to go.

its 1.325 VID (one of the worst ) chip ..but i managed to do 3.4ghz stable with ~1.4v.

Very true. From what you are doing I'd suggest getting a friend and doing it along with him. It will help you learn faster.
