I got a OCZ Platinum 4GB 1000MHz from KMD, one of the stick went bad today due to my own mistake. Is there somehow I can RMA this here ??.
-Regards.

^ :( I mailed OCZ when my RAM died. Unfortunately negative relay cam back. KMD asks for ~ 1K for RAM RMA procedure even if it's bought from him

Try contacting(e-mail) OCZ ,if they have support in India they will help you out ..or maybe they will ask you to ship the RAM to their centers in some Asian country or U.S.A.

best of luck.

by the way what did you do with the RAM ? :S

EDIT :

Looks like OCZ wont help..still isnt 900 ohk for RMA'ing a performance RAM ? or will selling them be a better option. ?

you have to ship it to US or Holland for RMA

catch someone going there and ask him to ship it from there after gettin a rma#

Got reply from Ryder, no need to ship to US.

You RMA directly through OCZ, you will ship to our Netherlands or our Taiwan office, not sure which is closer.

RMA instructions are below:

Go to this link: http://www.ocztechnology.com/NewTicket.html

Enter your email address, First/Last Name, and phone number (very important to include this)

Select the appropriate category from the pull down list marked "Trouble Type" and tick the "RMA Needed" Radio button below that.

Make sure to enter the OCZ Part number in the space provided to the left of "Full Problem Desc"

In the "Full Problem Desc" section include the following information:

The first line you type should be "Referred by Eric Ryder for RMA" this will let the tech at OCZ in Sunnyvale know that there is no further troubleshooting necessary and to just issue the RMA number.

PSU Model (OCZ700GXSSLI for example) (If applicable):

Ram Model (OCZ2G8002GK for example) (If applicable):

System info (Mobo, CPU, etc):

Brief Description of Problem:

Street (Include Apt or Suite if applicable):

City:

State:

Post Code:

Country:

NOTE: You must supply a street address, FedEx will not deliver to a P.O. Box so do not use a P.O. box as a return address for your RMA.

You will receive an email when your ticket is updated with the RMA number.

SPECIAL NOTE:

When you receive an email from "ocztechnology@exdesk.com" please do not reply to it. That email address is not a valid OCZ Technology address, it is generated by the computer after you have entered your information. All emails from that address have a link in them so you can view your ticket information.

Thank you and sorry for the Inconvenience.

Will send to Taiwan via EMS. :D Max damage Rupee 100~

I hope this works out, would be very happy if it does as I have quite a lot of OCZ stuff now and would hate to send it all the way to US.

but the ram was purchased locally ... i am not sure which company it was ... i can check and get back to you which company handled the RMA...

Anyone ?

At least suggest me the cheapest way to send the packet to Taiwan :(

Need to RMA my RAM.

I had contacted their taiwan office, got an option of either sending it to taiwan or US. Sent them to US via a friend and got the replacement kits in ~ 3 weeks

ocz can be rma'ed within 48-72 hours from ur local zebronics distributor. a friend rma'ed his ocz platinum ddr2 ram and got a new stick within 2 days.

Even the RAM sticks bought from the US ? Bill required ?

^^Isn't this thread about OCZs bought in the US? Why would anything bought locally through the authorised distributors/ dealers have to be sent to US/ Taiwan??

Edit @ below: Yeah, that is why I think members should read the thread (at least the 1st post) before venturing opinions. That way the member's post is not wasted. What happens otherwise is that the thread gets filled up with info unrelated to the query or leads to multiple posts stating the same thing ad nauseum. I see that happening quite a lot. No issues as such, but for some of us members that do read thru whole threads, it becomes a minor irritant.
