I am looking for OEM printer cartridges. The printer I am thinking of buying is CANON PIXMA MP180. But the Canon original's printer cartridges cost around Rs.700. Thats too much of running cost.
Umm, I used to buy original cartridges, but get em refilled now... much cheaper ... Even it damages my printer slightly or watever, I can probably buy a new printer with the money i save
I agree about the refilling part (don't refill) but your original query was about OEM cartridges. I have been using 3rd party (probably that is what you want) cartridges, not OEM. To my mind, the difference is that the OEM would imply the guy who is making them for Canon. 3rd party is someone who makes compatible cartridges.
I have a PIXMA IP1000 which uses the BC24 black and color. I used to buy from Amkette: When Reliability Matters and I found the performance as good as the original. Now I buy them from other makers at about the same price without the added shipping cost. I pay Rs 100/- and Rs 150/- respectively for black and color. The savings I have made so far in the 18 month period can easily pay for a new printer now.
The same cartrides are used in some of the all-in-ones as well but I don't know which one your model uses.
Currently I use ImageMaster made in Mumbai.
AFAIK, all these 3rd party ones including Amkette are made in China and just branded and sold here.
Amkette doesn't list your required model on their site. You may have a problem. I am lucky that my printer uses the same cartridge model that canon had been using even with their older S200 printer. Since that cartridge is used on many Canon models it is extremely popular and available.
