(1) I brought sony dvd rw oem drive from R.K. Infosys from at 1950.00 Rs. with vat invoice.
In surat it cost 2400 Rs. I say here about it thay say it directly imported so you can not get warranty . Is It possible ??
 
:) Why do u want to risk a new prod? pay the 400 rs more and get peace of mind is what i would suggest...rest ur money:)
 
They are very correct you`ll not get warranty. Reason :

> Drive is an imported one i.e. not bought from sony indian sales channel.
> you got it Rs. 400 cheaper from the market price.

If u have bought a OEM HDD from some dealer, who has to give u warranty?

Its dealer? or OEM vendor? or Manufacturer?

Which model you are talking about?

If I were you, I prefer to buy from local Dealer, as if any problem incure I can ask dealer to repair/replace.
 
You should have got an LG, cuz i am not very sure how long Sony's optical drives last cuz mine one died on me justa month after the 1 yr warranty period also it seems Sony Service Center doesnt have spare for the smae to get it working ,its sitting in Mr Sabeers (Computer shop, brigade, Blore) shop collecting dust.
