Office PC takes insane amount of time to boot.

Wokay, safe mode takes around the same amount of time

During the safe mode startup, Windo$ze lists all tyhe modules while they are loading up...see if there is any one module in particular that is taking ages to load , i.e. is there any module that gets stuck on the screen for inordinately long while loading

^^ The /SOS switch does the same thing

It zips thru till Mup.sys, then asks me if I want to cancel daemon tools driver. Then it just sits there for a couple of minutes.

Hmmm........ MSI Liveupdate doesnt like my proxy Anybody know how to use that Automatic Configuration thingie? In linux its something like http://usrname:password:proxyserver:port....... something like that.

download the bios from here and flash from windows using winflash

not sure if flashing bios is going to improve boot times though.. how about trying to install on the sata and see.. no need to activate windoze if its still slow

^^ I got that from MSI site. But it doesn't have the bios in a bin file, which winflash needs. What to do now?

just choose any file and point it to the bios you downloaded .. still works

Wokay. Updated bios, didn't help

BTW, boot time is around 2.5 mins now. (thats before and after updating bios)
