Budget 51-70k Office use thin and light laptop required urgently.

  • What's your Budget? Between 50k to 65k.
  • What will be your primary usage for the notebook be? Office apps, Web surfing, E-mails, Word, etc.
  • What size and weight considerations do you have? 13.3" to 14", Want it to be as thin and light as possible. This is my main priority.
  • Any brand that you prefer, or any brand that you detest? I prefer Dell. Do not want to buy an HP laptop.
  • Any other considerations? Things that I want this laptop to have - Least weight possible, easy to carry daily, hence not looking above 14". Maximum battery life possible. The laptop must have atleast 1 USB A port (if it has 2 USB A ports then it is even better). HDMI port is absolutely necessary. 1 USB Type C port is needed. This has to be a Windows machine because of some Windows only softwares that I use.

PS: This is for a friend of mine.

I have shortlisted these two laptops and I would like some inputs from you experts.

1. https://www.amazon.in/ASUS-i5-1135G7-Graphics-Office-2021-UX325EA-KG502WS/dp/B09PYVS58Q/

2. https://www.amazon.in/Dell-Inspiron-Graphics-Keyboard-Platinum/dp/B09RMHXHSR

TIA

Dell seems more sturdy and confidence inspiring. ASUS with its OLED screen seems great for media consumption.

I would suggest go with the Asus model for two reasons primarily:
  1. It is lighter, which is something that you want
  2. Its processor has 15w TDP while the other one has 35w TDP. Meaning you'll get better battery life with the Asus model
The performance difference between the two won't be that high, despite the higher clock speed (https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/Intel-i5-11320H-vs-Intel-i5-1135G7/4593vs3830). Asus is also cheaper, so that's an added bonus. And finally it comes with Thunderbolt ports, which might not be a game changer, but might come in handy in future.

Disclaimer, I have personally used DELL, HP, and Asus laptops and so far Asus has offered me the most trouble free experience. But this might not be true for everyone.
