It transports the viewer into the thrilling world of gaming and digital entertainment, complete with all the necessary information on the latest gaming titles. The website is a single window to the world of Xbox 360.

Elaborating on the launch of the website, Country Manager Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division, India, Mohit Anand said, "The Xbox 360 India website is for all Xbox 360 enthusiasts who want first hand information on the gaming console before its launch near Diwali. I was there at Palika Bazaar in July and I had enquired about XBOX 360. The guy there told me don't go for that as it cannot be patched yet. Don't know the update after that.

Xbox Live service isn't officialy supported here ofcourse. I mean when Dreamcast came out, it came with network settings, CD and manuels specifically for Indian ISP's. The CD said it was only for use in India.

So yeah, that's a silly question. The Ps2 can go online from India too, that because its Network Adapter is universally supported. Requires simple settings about the Router only. About Xbox i'm not sure if it can.

Besides, LIVE requires REAL Broadband - Not possible in India, and its going to get worse with X360. The games are heavy, on top of that you have live chat, live video feeds, instant statistical displays with heavy grahpics, and some of them run simultaneously.

With official X360 launch in India, LIVE then should definitely also be supported no doubts, but how are they going to handle the slow connections in here is beyond me.

Yeah, That was concerning me. The site clearly has an xbox profile section with gamerscore and reputation info which is a feature of the xbox via xbox live which means they most definitely are bringing it to India.

Params7, How is Sony's live service diffrent from MS'. Would'nt it be hampered too by lack of real broadband in India?

The Sony's online service is not as sophisticated as Xbox Live is.

It works exactly like an online PC game. Pop in the game, choose online, connect to severs, play, then log off.

Even so, I don't think any one could play a Broadband only game in India from the Ps2. All games being released since the last two years are Broadband only - Maybe because of the same reasons as Xbox Live (live video/sound/statistical feeds during gameplay).

I only got to take Action Replay MAX online, to download and update cheats from their servers located in US to my MMC. Couldn't take any other games online because of the ps2 being modded and pirated games.

So yeah, Indian Xbox players will be getting kicked out of servers unless someISP comes out with 512+kbps connections. (IMO, 1Mbps is the minimum required for broadband games, I'll recheck).

Okay so maybe xbox live does require a much better online setup in order to run stuff like live video, voice communication and such but I feel they could tone it down for the Indian market. MS being the PC powerhouse that they are will also no doubt be able to provide the Indian market with it's own dedicated servers as well but even if PS3's online service is simpler, will it it be as efficient as MS'? Do you believe Sony will officialy launch the PS3 in India. They can do it but they have'nt so far with their previous consoles and can they provide dedicated servers for online gaming?

Servers in India? That's way too far-fetched. Only the most popular PC games have servers in India, like CS. But no console game, even on Dreamcast, had servers in India.

Simply because our country does not have enough console gamers for it, at least not enough at all for making Sony and M$'s attention.

But that's not important at all. Only the major countries have most of the servers and the whole world plays on it. From my Ps2, I could connect to AR MAX severs in less than a minute and a 3mb download would be completed and transferred to my MMC in the next 3 mins.

And I seem to have overjudged the connection requirements, I rechecked, and the good news is Xbox 360 requires at least a minimum of 512kbps download+minimum 256 kbps upload with good pings for 'near' smooth gameplay on LIVE - That's only gameplay and sound transmission.

1mbps is the minimum requirement for uninterrupted Xbox LIVE with full functions.

So if some ISP's could provide 256kbpsup and 512 down, and if M$ can tone down LIVE for India which I think they would since its officialy being released, India will be ready to accept Xbox live and connect with the rest of the gamers around the world. ^__^

As for Ps3's official release, just maybe. Afterall, Sega released DC here, X360 is now being released, and if it recieves an above decent responce, I see no reason why Ps3 would target India as well now since this country has been picking up on console gaming, specially Sony's, and Ps3's a muddle now anyways, so I see Sony trying everything to sell their consoles...

Any prices of games known to anyone ? I would really like to know for what price would the games retail for and will the Console have a warranty or somthing ? I am guessing it would be 6Months like its in US or 1Year i dont remember correctly..

I am also waiting to see what version games will release over here PAL or NTSC-J, if its the latter then the games can be expected to release for 2-2.5k cause thats the price they retail for in Japan and lol its the right format to go for cause most of the games that did not work out in Japan can be sold here....
