Old demand draft taken in favor of a private company but never encashed

I took a DD for a private company from my bank account but that company never encashed it . Now its expired and I got the DD in my hand.
is it possible to get the refund of money from bank by submitting the expired draft, as it was taken from my bank account.

My bank is ICICI .

If a DD is not presented or encashed by the payee and has expired. the amount is not automatically credited back into your account. You'll have to write an application to the issuing bank for revalidation of the DD or for cancellation of the same, but again with cancellation charges recovery from you.
