Olympus SP-550UZ

hi,

does anyone have any experience with the Olympus SP-550UZ digital camera.

The Optical zoom is quite massive i think. and feature wise also it is Ok and its well priced (around 24K).

But does anybody have any handson experience with this model.

The 550 UZ has that killer 18X zoom, however every thing else is pretty much misleading marketing... eg

1. The 15fps burst rate... will shoot images at 1.2MP. At full res the burst rate is 1.5 fps.

2. ISO 5000 - only available if you shoot at 3.2 MP...

Basically read the fine print before you buy this cam... and there is a lot of fine print. My suggestion... buy a Canon S3 IS... its a good 8k cheaper too!

Well if your budget is 24k.. you could stretch a bit and get a decent SLR too!

you can also get the panasonic lumix-fz50. great cam for the price in this range
