today i woke up to find my bsnl giving me a whopping 85KBps speed... no idea why

EDIT: damn...stopped after 15 mins.. no idea why it happend in the first place

further edit: its back again... weird!!!!!!
 
umm looks like ur connection might be getting some kinda shock treatment :rofl:

one point, please while giving out a screenshot, make sure any IM contacts or email address are beign rubbed off for privacy reason......

BTW this happen to my connection also.... when for a night the connection speed was almost 1-2 Mbps tht's rought varying between 128 to 256 KBps.... I downloaded lots of stuff that night... But it was a one night stand only.....

ive heard abt it happening on airtel and now BSNL...
 
it happens..in sify ..when i start downloading a file for the initial time its 50-80 kbps..and then comes down...to 8 kbps(knw its too slow )..but in tht initial time when i get good speen...half of the file ..is already downloaded..with tht speed..!
 
Well, when u start a download and get the save as prompt, the file download actually starts downloading in the background, thats why you get to see those high speeds in the beginning and then settle down, happens with all connections. Though I've experienced speed bursts upto 130kbps with sify until I used to logoff, no luck with mtnl so far.

 
I m using my own modem against the stock modem they gave. First i used to get 22kbps (192kbps conn).. Now i get 135kbps avg in eve.. around 250kbps at Night LOL.. hacker..
 
^^ehh? :s ... first of all kbps =! kBps .. 1kBps = 8kbps

And what do you mean they are your download speed and not your connection speed :S
 
Ok i will keep this simple.

I have a 192kbps CONNECTION. n i was getting 22kbps on avg DN speed. Untill last month that i replaced the STOCK MODEM, with my OWN MODEM. So now i m getting 140-250kbps DN speeds.
 
must be something else server problem i guess, its like, saying i switched my Realtek lan card with a next gen LAN card or something and converted my 300k BB connection to 512k :rofl:
@shadow chazz which connection are u using btw?
