First of all- DawgyDawg is not to mock any site or person- i am a Dawg and i like that word hence i used it- use it a lot on IM too.:cool2:

While the OP is not wrong in anyway-

Does it look nice in your welcome PM , esp when most are looking for free advice?:P
(actually many look for anything and everything for free.):rofl:

Do you'll think TE should have this line in its opening PMs or anywhere on the main forums page(maybe a lil discreet)?

Coz it supports my thought :ohyeah: - i would like to offer some(even if teeny weeny) financial support to TE but never had the b@lls to ask.:ashamed:
(knowing well they are gonna deny).:P

So finally found a nice way to ask:hap2: - and it's true- site name will be provided to mods/admins for proof only if they consider this option favourably or at least agree to think over this seriously.:ashamed:

And before you say why i didn't go Premium- i never found that ok- coz i would be an outkast withat yucky brown colour- i am happy as a commoner.:)
Any offer for support(or community service) should be without any strings attached.:cool2:

I have already mentioned this to a good friend who painted me green elsewhere without telling me- though i seriously dunno if i have ever been any help at all.:ashamed:
 
Hmm, I second what Bikey is ermmm trying to say here.

I mean, sure you guys won't take any from us willingly, but come on, I am sure most of us are ready and willing to chip in a lil bit. It's all for the betterment of the community, also reduces tensions and headaches that the admins may have to go through when the next billing cycle is near.
 
Sharekhan too approached us with a similar generous offer. However for the time being we are out of the woods. To think we were seriously going to close TE some time back. :|

I think its apt to ask for donations only when the site is in dire needs. As we have said earlier too, its only a community (though that feeling alone makes it larger than anything).

But for the suggestions put forward I would merely quote what I replied to sharekhan as it completely serves our response here as well.

Thanks for the gesture, we appreciate it a lot. I hope you would be there to help us out if and when TE needs any monetary help to sustain. However right now since there is no immediate need I would like to politely deny it. Its heartwarming to see people coming forward and lending a helping hand.

Hmm, while TE is put of the woods now and we are all glad it is, doesn't it make sense to have a little in terms of future security, I mean sure you all can chip in IF that ever happens, but it's a nice thing to have some form of a backup, even if is for the sake of not having sleepless nights over it.

Besides more funds can always mean a better backup of the database/better servers/more features.

And the best part is, the site is still under you guys control and not on some one else's server etc.
 
^ @ Ren - We can open a sorta public fund where everybody can contribute and is accessible to all the users to view, so that everybody knows how much the "TE Fund" has.

As and when required, Staff can utilize the fund appropriately and inform the members of it.

Funds can be used for Advertising and Canvassing (Like T-Shirts, etc.) apart from regular hosting and domain fees.
 
yes yes i hope TE collects a lot of money and funds me to buy a ps3...

i can put a puppy face and look at you guys pleadingly and say that i am in a dire need of it :)

offerring donations to TE is not possible at the moment.

so you should forget that, Bikey.

Asking for donation in welcome mail is not wrong anyways.

Pardon me- and this is in no way applicable to my other dearest friends who did it to extend their support to TE.

I get wicked thoughts and one wicked thought about me going premium when it was introduced is as follows-
" Me getting a premium account would have been like labelling my @$$ PREMIUM- just like those 1800-XXX-XXX-XXX nos.":rofl:

It's so sad that you'll went thrugh a rough patch but couldn't seek support of members who might have a sense of belonging to this place.:(

The good people/friends i have met(online or in person) thru TE is huge and that's why TE is so special- apart from the fact that it has always been to my rescue when i blow up something here.:P

Existing in one room 24x7 ain't easy and i am only half insane coz TE and pals keep me sane.:thumb:
(about being half insane, i was born with it.:P)

On a serious note, I expect you guys to PM me whenever you need any support- i will try getting whatever lil from friends/family/other TE buddies and hand over to the City representative.;)
