On Board LAN problem

Hi all

Few days back my On board LAN stopped working suddenly, most probably due to LAN surge. Now the lan doesnt show anywhere not even the BIOS, so i installed a separate PCI LAN card, but now the problem i m facing is that whenever there is network acitivity goin on, n i m playin music i hear some sorta sparks in the backgroud. The spark sound disappear if i unplug the LAN cable n music plays perfectly fine. Now i m baffled as y is this is happening. Anyone has any clues?

Hm... there is pretty major voltage coming thru ur lan cable maybe because of some short circuit. Better figure that out before ur lan card is toast as well.
 
btw this happens only when music n network activity is going on simultaneously... n not when a single process is on.. like ven only music plays there r no sparkin sounds.. or ven there is no music playing n network activity on.. then my speakers have no spark sounds... even if i turn the volume to full :huh:
