Graphic Cards Onboard audio issue after 280X installation

Hi guys,

I have a Gigabyte G1 Sniper 2 mobo which comes with an onboard Creative Soundblaster X-Fi chip. I recently installed a Powercolor R9 280X and since then the right channel on my speaker has stopped working. Sounds on the right channel play on the left channel. Weird..eh?? I can get the audio working on both channels by using the hdmi sound output from the 280X, but then using a microphone for gaming becomes an issue.

I have tried clearing the AMD audio drivers using driver sweeper and it still doesn't work. I've tried googling this but couldn't find a solution.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Cheers

OK. This may sound a little naive, but lets start from the basic.
Physically remove your graphics card from the system. (Am assuming you have on-board video).
Reboot.
Uninstall AMD Drivers (Audio / Video / Catalyst Control Panel everything )
Uninstall Mobo Sound drivers
Reboot
Install Mobo sound drivers
Reboot
Check for audio (If still not working , it would most probably mean hardware defect - maybe something you damaged / static when you installed your card )
If it is working - then install your card again and reboot.
Install AMD drivers. Reboot.
Check for audio (If its is not working - it seems your audio drivers for AMD are messing something up - highly unlikely because you are getting audio through HDMI)
Reboot. :)

I sound like a noob, but rebooting has helped my countless times. God (and Windows) works in mysterious ways :D.

Let me know.
