Android OnePlus Nord is a "budget phone"

I am surprised flipkart mentioning things like clock speed in ad. Are they expecting all customers to be tech savvy to know or care about it or is it that One plus is only for enthusiasts?
I don't check much on Android devices so don't know much.

Also this. Should it be obvious by now that the Nord is just a rebrand with minor tweaks? View attachment 87736

Also a funny thing, Flipkart seems to feel threatened by the Nord seeing their ad lol

Bah... Not surprised. All are headed by BBK. Heck, it was in news that Carl pei would be heading operations for Oppo for sometime.
1+ would lose out steam pretty fast if all the devices from BBk start looking the same.
The only thing that seems a bit different is the camera setup, either square, or linear or circular.
Oxygen OS is another thing that sets apart 1+ from other BBK siblings.

what's the point of having a 5G phone when there isn't a single tower in the country.

My thoughts exactly. I have a feeling that it will take 2 years at least, and this would not support the home grown 5G bands that Jio may launch with.

Now ? It's been like that for the last couple of years, they don't even hide it anymore.

Oh yeah. I see too many people praising OP.

Actually original price was 27999. They decreased price to 23999 for that sale and there was a card discount of 1500 as well so that made the price 22.5k. I don't think it has come back in stock since then. I didn't buy it then because I was thinking of picking it up used on OLX for 16-18k. But I couldn't travel to Delhi, where most of the pieces were available, and then the lockdown happened.
So it was out of stock before or after the new GST? I thought the 27k was post-new GST. If that was before then I can't imagine how much higher it would be lol.
Also do you think you can really get used one for 16k? Seriously doubt it tbh.

Dunno about the direct buyers on their platform but the fans of Facebook seem to have an idea seeing as they have been poking fun at Flipkart on almost all of their ads/posts on new phones. One guy even said the 765G on Oxygen is better than the 855 on crap UI of other brands lol.

IMO its tad bit overpriced. I would have bought it if it was 128gb at 25K, not 64gb. I went ahead with redmi k20 pro instead.

Its good enough for general use with good enough camera and OLED screen for watching movies. and its got no ads, 2-3 years software support. Its a matter of personal preference and people who want that will buy this.

also blame snapdragon for pushing 5g chipsets to customers even though 5g is non existent in india. 5G model is integrated into their all new SoCs while 855 had to have a separate 5G modem outside its SoC

Price of 6/64GB only in Grey Color model is 25k which will be available in September, So as of now you are getting 8/128gb for 28k (Rs 27,999) as standard varient till August , You can't say its under 25k phone, If they can't release 4/64gb during pre orders
There are no review of phone yet because manufacturer imposes embargo on reviewers to not show any camera samples despite the fact that the phone is available for pre orders

^ small correction. Its 6gb ram for 25k, not 4gb.

that being said yeah oneplus is asking small premium for its software and people who think its worth it will buy it

After seeing it crack up in Jerry's video, it is a no brainer that you will need a solid case. Though few phones go through the abuse which Jerry puts it, however after spending 28k, 1+ should have gone with a better built.

Hey, you need money for RDJ too. Why should all of it go to improving phone's design ? :D

After the OP8P fiasco (annoying launch, display issues, heating issues etc), and Nord's hype of 2nd coming of Jesus, OP is moving out of my radar now. Their old lines are still pretty good phones though (and priced well).

Worst thing is they have looted people including me for the Nord invite (99rs). False advertising which mentioned assured gift, but none given

Plus their AR experience was just pathetic

Exactly. Tbh, I was hoping for a gift (assured gift )

You as well as others who bought into the hype won't repeat the same mistake at least.
I stopped following/replacing phones a long time ago, at this point of time every new phone is basically a rectangular glass sandwich in a plastic/metal frame with 4 cameras aligned differently that runs some synthetic benchmark slightly faster than the previous model.
BBK especially is quite notorious at trickling and repackaging their different sub brands in different regions just with a different OS at a different price point.
Oppo becomes Realme becomes Vivo becomes iQOO becomes OP, I don't see em changing anytime soon especially since it seems to be working quite well for them.

Do you know how people defended that phone? They said and I quote "It's not like I'm going to bend that much so it's okay." Ikr!

I saw this being brought up by some people on Twitter. OnePlus doesn't seem to give a shit.
Anyway, if any of you guys know people in the OEM industry please let me know. I need to get my ideal phone manufactured just for me lol.

I went through its in depth reviews and frankly its an average phone. As always not upto the so called hype...
I lost my interest after seeing the specs list officially. No memory card slot.No earphone jack. 25k starting is ridiculous, at least for me.
Will Google also disappoint with the 4A? iPhone already has with the new SE.

Even One plus 8 pro is crap when it comes to camera. Only over saturated and vibrant artificial lovers will praise its crap camera.
I can still bet no android camera can beat Iphones and seems this is to stay for a long time. Except for only pixel came near close but again its a crap phone given the battery life and other bundled issues.
