Hello folks, as dull it may sound but Im a noob at online shopping. Have a Debit card with me & registered with Ebay for a start.
Now I wanted to know whether its ok to give ones correct details during registeration?
Later while buying a page appears that asks for Credit card number, holders name & CVV(3 digit no)B]. Is it safe to to fill in all these details?
How to proceed after this?

P.S: Btw, there's an option of paying on delivery, how to avail this?

Which bank's debit card do you hold? There are options for payment using Citibank, ICICI and HDFC also on the same page.
The options which asks Credit card number, holders name & CVV(3 digit no) directs you to your bank's payment gateway once you fill in the details.

I shop frequently on ebay.in and i can assure it is the best site for buying things in India. If you want to shop online on any other just make sure they have 'Verisign Secured' tag on their website.

PNB, PSB, Canara. Planning to get a SBI card too.

Btw, got a call from Mahindra Kotak, they are providing a Credit card free of cost. I don't have an account with them so far, what do you think of the offer, is it worth going in for or a marketing gimmick?
 
^ nope.. i dont think so.

Its just their marketing strategy to attract customers. My Dad too get such calls from HDFC bank regarding credit card. So,we accepted their offer and got a HDFC card but now its of no use. They have so many hidden terms and conditions which can make anyone go crazy.

My Dad even told them that he want a gold membership card which has higher limits for shopping. They agreed at that time but shipped a basic Silver card. We complained them about this matter but they didnt resolve that.

And after that, we didnt accept any call from any bank offering Credit card.

So, only prefer card from the bank whom you have trust. Prefer govt banks like SBI, PNB etc.

And by the way, credit card is a free service offered by bank to any customer(till gold membership,in most of banks).

NEFT is best option according to me. I have done a lot of buying business on ebay. no problems so far. but yeah, be careful about bogus sellers.

Yes I do but without Debit card.

I mean I cannot make an online purchase using that card as it has no, CVV no and other online authentication method.

It is useless.

You can make a purchase using SBI's Netbanking.

I used it to purchase my Logitech diNOVO mini keyboard from ebay.in

Haven't bought from infibeam, but they are reputed and reliable. Unfortunately, that also means higher prices as compared to the market.
Adexmart - have bought from this seller quite a few times. Very nice guy, and ships immediately.
 
I have made a ebay account.
And activate that after confirming the email from ebay India.
Now what to do ?
Do they will charge me if I don't do anything like buy or sell ?.....:huh:
 
Infibeam is very good. Have made 3 purchases myself and atleast 10 by my friends. Very quick delivery, never faced any issues.

On the other hand, ordered a book from Indiatime (tgb.indiatimes.com) 2 days ago. They charged 1120 from my credit card immediately. Yesterday got an auto-email that I need to send them a cheque/dd for 1120 only after which the shipment will be done. I hope it came by mistake (the email says I opted for cheque as the payment mode). Sent an email 35 hours ago, waiting for reply.

No they won't. You will be charged only if you buy or sell something. An idle account does not attract any penalty

Can anyone tell me about payment option in brief ?

I mean about PaisaPay.

When I try to register for that it asked for my account no.,which bank and some no. which can be found on check book.

Saw it will charge 4%+tax.

Already ebay priced are very high then extra charge for PaisaPay.

Even if u got 10% off coupon u will have to pay higher.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.....:)
