opera freezes very often - any fix ?

Opera browser freezes every now and then in windows 7 and 8. Is there any fix to correct this issue. I hope the old 12.00 version is better than the latest 12.15 version where in the frequency of crash is more. Some downloads in websites like upload.to dont work properly in IE and IE doesnt have preview tabs. So i am forced to use OPERA. please help
 
Opera stopped working properly for me after version 12.12.
Opera 12.x is the last revision of Opera before they switch to the same rendering engine as Chrome (which should happen next month), so don't expect any improvements in the 12.x versions.
I switched to Firefox, after Opera started crashing on me. Try it out. If your sites work, then you can download a few extensions, and make it work just like Opera.
 
Haven't encountered this issue (and I have been using this browser for over a decade now). However, like with what such issues, I would suggest doing a full uninstall (including preferences, cache etc.) and a fresh install
 
Deleting cache and cookies practically fixes most problems in Opera. Shame on this being the last Presto based version.
