Re: OPINIONS NEEDED ON THE BRAND "TACENS" power supplies

...wires are good and its quite heavy:S

dont go on that.

I'm pretty much sure nobody on te will be using this psu.

btw you have lot better and best options for that budget right from vip to cm & tagan to corsair.

Ask him for a piece, check the UL number. Open it up to get a good shot of the internals.

Of course its still no match for actual load testing.

mr.pradip of MD computers called me up and said he is stocking tacens smps...he asked my opinion about the brand.. what i could find is FSP is behind this brand...so guys please share your opinions and suggestions and any information...:) he told me the wires are good and its quite heavy ...

pricing

tacens supero 500w modular - 3k

tacens supero 600w modular - 3.4k
The specs are misleading.. i checked the supero 600watts in their site... it has 4 12 volts rails each rated at 18 Amps.. which alone brings to 864 watts and we still have to consider the +3.3 rated at 36 amps which equals to 118 watts and + 5 volts at 30 Amps = 150 watts. All put together it crosses the 1000 watts marks... I really suspect this. Not sure whether the specs are right in the website, but it does not make a good impression

i found this quote from one of the TE member named Revolution "Never Buy Any fking Palit Card And Be Aware From M D Computer(Kolkata),They Sell Physically Damaged Cards....."

Now being said that, the guy has approached you for yet another misleading product. So be aware and cautious. I am not sure how good or bad the MD comp guys are.. but just wanted to let you know

@ revolution if u are reading my post please go to md computers and solve your issue...i had a talk with mr.pradip he is ready to solve your problem but unless u go there nothing can be solved...so please go to the shop and solve your issue and give my reference

That is not the correct way to calculate maximum amperage because you simply can't always add up the 12V rails to calculate the combined output. For instance, that Tacens 600W has 18A each on four 12V rails may only have 50A instead of 72A. The correct way to calculate maximum amperage is to find out the maximum power output on the +12V rails through detailed item specifications or on the PSU information label. See this

Antec Neo HE500

17A each on three 12V rail would give 51A which is wrong. The correct way is to find maximum power output which is 456W which is equal to 456W/12V = 38A
Also, you can't simply add amperage power of +3.3V and 5V rails to include them in the rated power of a PSU. :)
