my cd-rw has died on me

the lense is gone.

1 should I go in for a new writer or try replacing the lense of the old

2 which is a good cd writer??

3 or i should go in for a dvd writer
Please mention the prices for the same.

A. Get a Benq DW 1640 , cost 2.8K to 3.5K , varies from place to place.
Also you get 2 Yrs Warranty and this dvd writer supports all the formats
excapt DVD-RAM , Also DVD Ram discs are not available here
also if they do become available will be costly.

or ask ne TE member they wud suggest u a DW 1640 only.

I get 3X and 5X -RAM discs quite cheap.. 3X for 100 and 5X for 150 - Maxell Made In Japan. Using them on dad's 4163B.
 
@TechHead - where here in India , looks like i shud go to lammy to check and
update myself on whats new.

Also the cost is very resonable for DVD-Ram

Also Whats the cost of DVD+-/RW and brand to get here in Mumbai.
