Im really confused between Orange San Fransisco @ 10.4k and Dell XCD 35@ 10.8k. I mean is there really a performance hit with the loss of 256 Mb RAM?

Dell has 1 yr India warranty as well and has brand value. Heard from friends that people tents to see OSF as some Chinese stuff.:ashamed:

Which should I go for? Can I have OSF serviced if something goes wrong?

And is there any coupons available for flipcart?

dell has physically the same handset as orange san fransisco so you can unlock the remaining 256 mb ram ZTE Blade - MoDaCo

(you need to check though if the dell available now are gen2 or not. In case they are gen2, then i am not sure this would work)

both the phones are zte oem, and purely chinese product just like most other phones are right from nokia to apple iphone. i use the orange san fransisco, and am very happy with it. But then when i bought it, i got the sf for around 8.2k whereas the dell was not even available in India.

given the current pricing, i think that dell offers better value you will get warranty support. with sf, you will have to try out the local mobile repairers and hope that dell parts are widely availble if required :D

Can we reset the OS to the stock one before RMAing ? I mean can we just put back the official release before applying for RMA when needed?

^^Yes you can do that...

But I would choose the extra 256 MB RAM over the warranty and Dell tag, so get the OSF.

Or just get the LG O1, for warranty.. if you are fine with lower screen resolution.

OSF for 10.4k is a high price.. I'm sure that you can get it cheaper as most of us got it for cheaper price...

256mb of ram won't give so much performance hit and anyways as previously stated in this thread you can unlock the remaining 256mb. Even if your phones turns out to be GEN2 (which is not a bad thing) it is just a matter of time before 256mb unlock for Gen2 is out. Dell is now shipping the phone with Android 2.2, which is an advantage, and in case you end up buying this please post the ROM dum at Modaco forum. :)

If you get OSF for 8.5- 9k go for it otherwise Dell is better.

Thanks yaar, made payment for the Dell one. The products page said its 2.2 froyo, so most probably Gen2. Im ready to wait for the unlock if it ever gets possible :).
