Laptops Ordering an inspiron....will i get 7k bargain???

Well thinking to order an inspiron 1520.....after customization price goes upto 57k+ with taxes 60k.....there is an option for 0% tax exemption for which extra 5 days delay will occur......so i consider the config to cost me 57k...now will they bargain upto 7k..as i have under 50k budget.....so any chances of them entertaining my request???

I have mailed the config on my id havent received the mail yet...once its up here ill share with u peeps.....
 
i think u wil... i got a max discount of 5k... mine was costin 56,5....but in the end i collected som of the freebies...... the whole exercise made my lappy look 6200 cheaper( or rather sound....) i paid 53,5 n got freebies (ext. warranty, free mouse n stuff).... if i had mor time...i belev i cud hav brought it down furthur....
 
u mean to say after customizing.....total was 56.5...than u further added stuffs and made it 62k......that way i understand 5.5k logic...but u said u paid 53.5k...thats a bigger margin....btw my config doesnt include 3 years warranty yet...its costing 57,166 but i m thinking to stick to 48k and get it when i hear an amt below 50k

the total came up 57.5 after cust(after 1k disc.... which the dealer offered me st away... it was 56.5)

i paid 53.5 n got freebies worth 3.7k

any particular reason, you are not opting for XPS 1530 instead of Inspirion, which otherwise will be at same price level, i think !!
 
first lappy dont have much idea......main stuff which i cant compromise is the ram and 8600gt also santa rossa processer.....and also i dont think ill get a big discount on xps one....

my main aim is to get it below 50k....if u can customised one do lemme know the link of same here
 
below 50K is not possible for XPS in any case, but yes if you are expecting a bargain of 7K on this particular system, which i doubt will be at the max 3-4 K... with which cost will be otherwise over 50K i.e. 52-53K ish value, you can get a discount of 4-5K on 60K XPS machine i.e. 54-55K ish value.... as you see a difference of 2-3 K but in totality, you'll get a definitely a better range value i.e. XPS + Finger print reader (which is other wise not available in Inspirion).
 
ohh so i expect 4-5k max disc.....hmm i jus added the 250giga will compromise with that......finger print..ahh aah dont want that bling bling right now.....jus basic system which i can use for net,movies games abit and trying hand on animations stuff...

I am saying this after personally seeing the washed out and terribly bleeding backlight on the over 4-5 1520 s I have seen both ordered by friends/colleagues from Dell India as well as Dell US

bear in mind that not all 1520 owners will crib abt the screen as inspirons are very popular with first time buyers who may not have had a chance to notice this issue because of not having seen a 1520 and a machine with a better screen side-by-side

hey....it ain't that bad...my bro has an hp lappy n my dad has a sony.....
so u can't say i ain't compared..... yup its a bit reflective for outdoor usage ( if u need to use it under the sun......forget it)...n bit grainy but not as bad as u r makin it sound...
 
Yes u can most certainly get a very good discount,,reason:-U have customised to higher components and this is not a basic config,so they will have a lot of margin,

Don take a 250 gb hdd, u can get a desktop one and use a casing and get a much higher capacity,,

back to the point,
u have to try more than one rep,make different q=configs with diff email on their site and then talk to 2 to 3 reps,,
this is verry essential,, and u'l know why when u talk,,,
After chatting over jus think where u cud have done more and then go for the next..

and remember to tell them that u buddy got it real cheap and jus cause u arent haggling like him, doesnt mean u wont get good discounts...

try it , wil work..also keep a target in mind,, and once u reach that price target do try and go further,,,

Also teling them ur budget and sayin only this config wil work for u else no go, can help..
 
aah today i was about to talked to them...but dell india has removed 1520 customised option.....aah what to do...cant call and confirm stuff..need to check them in front of pc while chatting.....
